Crag Vale Dragon

The 5ft diameter beech tree had grown on a steep bank that made fixing the pallets I use to access the work difficult, but with some long screws manged it.    Unfortunately in the middle of the tree there was a rotten area about 7 inches in diameter.  This got wider lower down the tree.   A radical redesign was required, making the dragon a lot thinner than expected.   The diagonal black line on the lower right hand picture is the remains of the rotten area that I could not carve out unless I made the dragon  anorexic .   Unusually, I have used a coloured preservative to identify the none dragon areas of the work, as without it, the view of the dragon from the house  was confusing   .
