One an Hour
One an hour may look a strange title, but that was the timescale for carving theses heads. I gave a demonstration of chain saw carving at the Bronte Village Gathering, West Yorkshire, UK and started work at 10 am and had them all done by 3pm, including breaks to talk to visitors, for food and lots of drinks as it was a boiling hot May day. At this speed the work was obviously not as finished as normal. Only the eyes, nose, and lips got any work with hand tools. They all went into the auction which helped the organizers defray some of the costs of paying me to attend.
